SubFinder requests read-only Gmail access for the purpose of finding likely subscription-related billing messages.

What the scan does

It sends a focused Gmail search for likely receipts, renewals, memberships, trials and recurring-payment notices from the previous 12 months. Matching messages are processed temporarily to create potential subscription findings.

What is stored

SubFinder stores your Google account identifier, email address and structured findings such as the likely merchant, amount, currency, billing period, confidence and evidence dates. For shortlisted results, it also stores one shortened subject line, the sender label, detected recurring phrases and a short redacted excerpt so you can judge why the message was flagged. It does not store complete message bodies or Gmail credentials in the application database.

Use of OpenAI

Candidate billing evidence may be redacted and sent to OpenAI to improve classification. Email addresses, phone numbers and obvious account or order references are removed first. API storage is disabled for these requests. If the OpenAI service is unavailable, SubFinder uses its local detection rules.

Payments

PayFast processes checkout and payment information. SubFinder stores only the payment reference, amount, status and PayFast transaction identifier needed to unlock and reconcile a purchased report. SubFinder does not receive or store card numbers.

Your choices

You can revoke Gmail access from your Google Account, sign out to discard the current session token, or delete your SubFinder account and stored findings from the account page.
